Our Engagement proposal went a little like this…
My partner went overseas on deployment for 8 months, we met up in Europe for his two week break and travelled around before heading to Greece and island hopping. To finish the trip off we had a few nights on the romantic Island of Santorini.
On the 9th August, Andy hired a private masseuse to come to our room and we both have massages. After this, we got ready to go to dinner, which to my surprise, happened to be set up by the staff on our balcony at sunset. There was a dining table and lanterns spread all around to make the scene even more romantic and had hired a private chef to cook for us.
After our amazing three course meal and a few glasses of champagne, Andy blindfolded me and took me inside where I stood at the top step while he put Train’s “Marry me” song on. He came back and said I could take the blindfold off.
The room was lined with tea light candles running from the door to the bed and an isle of rose petals in-between. The bed was covered in petals and was surrounded by candelabras.
I looked down and there he was on one knee with the most amazing ring I’d ever seen…one which he designed himself…and asked me to be his wife. The one night I wish I was wearing waterproof mascara! This was the night of my life and one I will never forget!
The only downfall was that I only had 2 more days with him until he went back to deployment for another 4 months.
Fortunately, he arrived home safe and we are now months away from our big wedding day, where I will marry my best friend and the love of my life!
