Wedding Dress Trends for 2014

Choosing the bride’s dress is one of the most exciting parts of planning a wedding. With so many styles to choose from, any bride needs help looking for the perfect dress. Fortunately, you don’t have to go too far to find out the latest trends in wedding dresses. Go for something fresh and modern or stick with the classics and silhouettes.

Here are the highlights of the Spring 2014 Bridal Fashion Week:

Classic Lace Sleeves

Lace isn’t going anywhere, especially since the Duchess of Cambridge wore one stylishly on her wedding day. Top fashion designers presented their own variety of wedding gowns with dainty lace sleeves. You can choose from different types of laces, such as Chantilly, Guipure, Schiffli, and Venise. Match laces with a sheer fabric and walk comfortably down the aisle on a warm spring afternoon.

Sleek and Modern

While some designers got busy with lace and embellishments, there are those who believed that less is still more. For 2014, we expect to see many minimalist brides in sleek and modern wedding dresses. Walk down the aisle with clean lines, crisp whites, and an A-line silhouette.

Detailed Back

One of the biggest trends during the fashion show was the detailed back style. Take your wedding dress up a notch with an open-back keyhole, fashionable trains, and architectural pleats. For added drama and elegance, you can also choose a crisscross back accented with stones or crystals.

Ombre Dress

Ombre is a hair colour style where the shade goes from dark to light or light to dark. Fashion designers showed that the technique isn’t solely for hair. You can use it for your gown too. A dip-dyed wedding dress flatters any type of skin tone. This is perfect for brides who want colour in their gown but can’t commit to a fully coloured dress.

Above the Knee

Your wedding dress doesn’t always have to be a full-length gown. At the 2014 Bridal Fashion Week, designers showed a beautiful alternative to floor-length dresses. A dress that falls just above your knee is great for a spring wedding. You won’t have to change outfits if you want to dance your wedding night away with your family and friends.

Apart from following trends, remember that the perfect wedding dress is one that you’re comfortable in. Let your beauty show and feel as if you’re walking down a fashion runway instead of the aisle. Start looking for the perfect gown with us through our online service.
