After growing up in Adelaide I love the amazing array of locations available for wedding ceremonies and the tag “City of Churches” certainly rings true.
With ceremony locations ranging from long, white beaches, vineyards, elegant houses, stunning gardens, the beautiful Adelaide Hills and of course spectacular churches, Adelaide wedding celebrants are enjoying an abundance of variety when it comes to wedding ceremonies.
Celebrants love performing wedding ceremonies for varying reasons:
Often they have seen and heard too many stories about strange weddings and disappointed couples that they become passionate about providing that perfect day for their couples.
Because they love what they do, meeting and getting to know the couples and their unique love story, then helping to tell that story to loved ones through the ceremony.
Some celebrants love the creative side of weddings where they help couples develop their own traditions and vows.
The joy comes from getting to know a couple, sharing insights, stories and memories to create the perfect ceremony the couple will remember for the rest of their lives. Many celebrants are talented and write the whole ceremony which can be especially enjoyable. Discovering a couples ethnic traditions and family history is interesting and full of new experiences.
Planning the ceremony is just one part of the whole journey in which the celebrant gets to share. The actual day of the wedding can bring joy and laughter, together with some weird and wonderful situations.
Theming is a large part of many couple’s wedding day and this often includes the ceremony. Many a celebrant has been asked to “dress up” to join the spirit and theme of the day.
Disney characters, face painting, period costume, fair maidens, American Indians, Aussie thongs and zinc cream are just a few of the many themes that celebrants are asked to embrace, and embrace it they do. One celebrant was asked to wear a Gatsby flapper dress which she still has in her wardrobe.
The couple’s dog is often included in the ceremony which can cause drama and laughter when it decides to relieve itself on the furniture or lose the rings which were tied around its neck.
The groom can faint and the bride can go into labour but these situations are all part of making a celebrant’s job special.
No matter the city, celebrants love what they do and love creating a dream ceremony for your special day. Our wedding directory is the perfect place to find a marriage celebrant in Adelaide.
