Melissa Bowman is a Wedding Planner based out of Manilla in New South Wales. She provides a range of services which sound quite special for potential brides to be... Let's take a look and see what it's all about!
Let's learn a little bit about your business and services you offer, can you give us a brief overview?
Having been married in the country herself ten years ago, Melissa Bowman realises what it takes to plan a country wedding. She couldn't believe how much time it took to organise her wedding, whilst having a full time job at the same time. However she loved every part of it. So much so that she decided to end her 15 years with the travel industry and start a wedding planning business of her own. And she isn't stopping at just weddings, she also organises events – engagement parties, cocktail parties, business launches..
How did you get involved in the wedding industry?
I realised I should follow my dream as I have always been so passionate about weddings. I have helped so many friends and family plan their weddings and realised I could turn this passion in to a successful business.
Do you have any kind of underlying philosophy, that guides the way you approach weddings?
Every wedding and every bride is individual and unique. No wedding should ever be the same. I take the time to get to know my bride and together we work towards a wedding that is going to represent the married couple on a personal basis.
Do you have a unique selling point, or something that makes your business extra special?
Specialising in planning country weddings – venue or marque.
In your oppinion, what is it about your service that makes a wedding day extra special?
We help with every aspect of planning a wedding – hair & make up, music, caters, cars, marques, dancing lessons, babysitters, accommodation, brunch the next day … and we don’t mind where we have to travel to for a wedding.
We particularly noticed how nice the photos looked on your profile, is there an interesting story behind any of them?
The photos show some beautiful marque weddings that I have been involved with. Each one has been so different. 3 weddings were actually in the same garden but no one would know from the photos as we made each marque look so uniquely different.
If you could give one piece of advice to a bride (or groom) on their special day, what would it be?
Sit back and relax and look around to take it all in because it will be over ever so quickly.
We're really excited that you've joined the My Wedding Concierge family, anything final before we sign off?
I’d like to thank My Wedding Concierge for having me on your team. I enjoy the updates each day. It is fabulous we can all band together in this wonderful industry.
