A Brush with Colour provides fantastic Wedding Makeup and styling services to brides, based out of Wembley in Western Australia. Today we're going to learn a little more about what she does, and how it might give a bride that special something on the big day.
Let's learn a little bit about your business and services you offer, can you give us a brief overview?
Hi! My name is Chloe, I am a mobile makeup artist in Perth. My business name is A Brush With Colour, I chose this name because I LOVE colourful makeup!
I offer friendly, professional and personalised service in the comfort of your chosen location. A Brush With Colour prides itself in providing a variety of makeup services:
*Special Occasions/Hen's Night
*Makeup Lesson Parties
*Private makeup lessons.
How did you get involved in the wedding industry?
I started A Brush With Colour nearly 1 and a half years ago now. I advertised on GumTree and found that most of my bookings were for weddings. Initially I didn't set out to do weddings, I wanted to do makeup for photo shoots and TV but after being involved in my first few weddings I discovered I actually love doing bridal makeup!
Do you have a unique selling point, or something that makes your business extra special?
Clients have referred me to their friends based on the fact that they loved how I really listened to their requests and created a makeup look that they were comfortable with. I am a great listener which I believe is an important trait to have in this business, I make sure that I listen to what my client wants and then I do my best to create the desired look.
In your opinion, what is it about your service that makes a wedding day extra special?
I LOVE my job, especially doing bridal makeup. I think that passion gives me a drive to really ensure that I create the perfect look for my brides. Every woman wants to look perfect on her special day!
We particularly noticed how nice the photos looked on your profile, is there an interesting story behind any of them?
Why thank you!…hmm, the girl in my main photo, I did her makeup for her 21st birthday. I was told to turn up to a sports centre, a rather odd place I thought to have a birthday party…until I realised that she was Italian and had invited EVERYONE in her family! Suddenly a big sports centre function room seemed like a good idea ha ha. It was funny, there I was with my makeup spread out on a stage, kids running around everywhere and Italian mothers/grandmothers rushing around setting up. T'was a little hectic hehe but it was fun to be part of this girl's birthday and meet some of her massive family!
If you could give one piece of advice to a bride (or groom) on their special day, what would it be?
Don't leave booking your makeup artist to the last minute! SO many brides leave the makeup to last, and, while it can seem like a trivial thing to someone who isn't as obsessed with it as I am ha ha, choosing your makeup artist is important. You want to give yourself enough time to find the perfect makeup artist for you.
We're really excited that you've joined the My Wedding Concierge family, anything final before we sign off?
Just want to say Thank You for selecting me to be interviewed!! I'm excited to be part of the My Wedding Concierge family and I am looking forward to meeting lots of brides through the website :)
